Tampa Resident Won $1.3 Million Dollars at 4:35 AM Today on Wheel of Fortune Progressive Megajackpot® Slot Machine
TAMPA, Fla. – A local man won BIG at Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tampa today. He won $1,311,909 on a Wheel of Fortune® progressive MegaJackpot® five-dollar-machine on Friday May 21, 2010. The winning bet? A $10 spin. This makes four millionaires in two years at Seminole Hard Rock Tampa!
The winner, Cory L Mcalpin of Tampa, 29, says he was speechless when he found out he won the huge jackpot. “I was wearing my lucky white Rays hat, but it was completely unexpected,” Mcalpin said. Currently he is self employed being “DJ Cory” part-time. He came to the casino by himself to start the weekend early and hit the jackpot at 4:35 am. The win was verified by casino officials a couple of hours later and he still had yet to tell anyone. “I can’t wait to tell my mom, she’s going to flip out!” Mcalpin is single and has lived in Tampa for eight years, moving from the Virgin Islands in 2002.
Todays’s MegaJackpot® is the first one to be paid at the casino this year, after a string of life-changing MegaJackpot® prizes. In February 2009, a $1.2 million prize was awarded to an anonymous winner on the same machine, making this the second time a big prize was awarded on that slot machine. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Tampa has now paid six MegaJackpot® prizes totaling over $7 million in money. Within two years, four of the MegaJackpots® were million dollar jackpots, including an incredible $2.5 million prize paid on November 25, 2008. Seminole casinos around the state have also been included in the MegaJackpot® action. On July 19th 2008, the Seminole Casino in Coconut Creek awarded an amazing $2.3 million MegaJackpot® prize on a Wheel of Fortune® Special Edition™ progressive.
The Seminole Hard Rock Casino Tampa is part of a Native American progressive gaming network which includes over 300 casinos nationwide.
